MJ Gets Bipartisan Support in Ohio

A pair of Ohio Republican lawmakers revealed a new bill to legalize cannabis yesterday. Polling shows that marijuana reform is an ever increasingly bipartisan issue with voters. While that sentiment hasn’t been reflected in state legislatures, tides look to be shifting. This month, new legalization legislation is being championed by GOP lawmakers in Pennsylvania and Ohio.

Ohio Rep. Jamie Callender (R) held a press conference yesterday on his new proposal to allow adults 21 and older to purchase and possess marijuana. The bill is cosponsored by Rep. Ron Ferguson (R), and will provide regulations for the licensing of cannabis growers, distributors and retailers.

In a show of true support for what freedom over your body means, it was said that people “should be able to make decisions for themselves, and that’s what this bill does,” Callendar said yesterday
