In a moment of OMG! Turns out medical marijuana users in Louisiana will now be able to smoke their medicine! On January 1st of 2022 smokable marijuana was added to the list of marijauna products that are available for medical marijuana patients. Rep. Joe Marino who chairs the MMC (medical marijuana commission) told a local news station in Batan Rouge that “Because it’s still a schedule 1 drug, it can’t go through a regular pharmacy. When the federal government changes that, then we can change the way this works,”.
This show us that while the advancement is positive there are still hiccups involved that need to be worked out. But as the saying goes: “Where there’s a will there’s a way.” It is of no doubt the industrious and entrepreneurial spirit of the people in Louisiana will get this done and make medicine available for those who need it.
